Pumped up by their recent successes, both the Holešov Appeal and ProAlt told MFD that they aren't interested in being led around by any labor bosses. It's a familiar story. Integration on the Left isn't possible because of the personal ambitions of people like Jiří Paroubek and Miloš Zeman who have founded small parties, according to ČSSD Chair Bohuslav Sobotka in Pravo. And personal animosities and differences in approach have thwarted the efforts to bring together the many anti-corruption organizations. Everyone wants to be the chief, and no one wants to be the Indian. Which suits all those who prefer the status quo, because it means that more effort is spent on infighting and conniving than on doing anything truly productive.
